PUAFER005 is structured to ensure that every participant leaves with practical experience and applied know-how. The course is divided into three core elements, governed by precise performance criteria.

  1. Pre-Emergency Planning
  • Understand and implement facility emergency response procedures.
  • Ensure all staff have access to emergency information, plans, and evacuation diagrams.
  • Identify and report deficiencies in emergency equipment promptly.
  • Wear and maintain appropriate ECO identification.
  • Examine and use relevant facility documentation effectively.
  1. Actions During an Emergency
  • Recognise and appropriately respond to a variety of emergency signals (audible alarms, verbal alerts, communication systems).
  • Assess emergency situations and anticipate potential developments.
  • Take initial action and control emergency responses in line with procedures.
  • Assist people who need additional support during emergencies (including those with disabilities, injuries, or language barriers).
  • Operate emergency stations (e.g., control rooms, alarm panels, muster points).
  • Communicate efficiently using available systems (phones, radios, public address, intercoms).
  1. Post-Emergency Activities
  • Work collaboratively to support the safe re-entry of people to the facility.
  • Document all actions and outcomes for incident debriefings and continuous improvement.
  • Thoroughly participate in post-emergency response activities, including reporting and analytical reviews.

FACT courses are completed face-to-face at our training location 34 South Terrace, Adelaide 5000. We provide the theory-based reading booklet (Learners Guide) as well as the pre-course study requirements which is in the confirmation email received at completion of booking.

To ensure the integrity of our process, on the day of attendance, Photo ID needs to be provided, Knowledge requirements completed to enable class participation. 

 2-3 hrs based on  a class of 12 students

Upon successful completion of all training, assessment and administrative requirements, a PDF certificate with email security will be emailed to student personal email addresses as supplied by them. Some conditions apply, including provision of the student USI.

The student USI must be provided prior to the start of the day of practical training and assessment otherwise we cannot guarantee completion of practial training.
