My recent trip to Perth was mostly about First Aid training. And partly about losing my glasses.

Thanks to Perth Scuba, I was able to run sessions covering CPR, Basic Life Support and Advanced Oxygen Therapy. The participants were sharp, the conversations were solid, and thankfully, the oxygen equipment wasn’t needed when I realised my glasses had gone missing mid-session.

One of the Perth Scuba crew took on the recovery mission with admirable determination. I now owe someone more than one coffee and maybe a spare pair of specs.

Later, my host bravely tested what happens when you lock yourself out of your own home. I played the role of bystander, offering encouragement and zero actual help.

In between the training and troubleshooting, I enjoyed a Korean BBQ that should be classified as therapy. I also got to experience the Perth Lightscape, a hypnotic, high-voltage display that made me question whether I’d accidentally wandered into an art installation curated by a sleep-deprived wizard.

Importantly, no crème eggs were offered. That’s progress.

Massive thanks to the Perth Scuba team for the warm welcome, the professional setup and the excellent hospitality. If you’re in WA and need high-quality training or are planning an underwater adventure, Perth Scuba should be on your list.
