You will receive hands on practice with CPR mannekins adults children and babies as well as actually using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), simulate bandaging eye injuries, broken bones and wound care. There will be some roleplay with scene and injury assessments.
It will provide you with an understanding on how to provide an emergency response in a range of situations, including within an education and care setting.
CPR provided in this course is the same as CPR training all medical professionals receive.
The course is for educators and support staff working within an education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. This course may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011). Specific licensing requirements, including requirements for refresher training, should be obtained from the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) and/or relevant state/territory Work Health and Safety Regulatory Authority. CPR provided in this course is the same as CPR training all medical professionals receive.The Student USI and pre-course study must be completed prior to the start of the day that you have booked to complete the practical training and assessment or we can not guarantee you will be able to complete the practical training on the day.
The course overall course duration is up to 24 hours with up to 15.5 hours of pre-study. The practical training and assessment will take place over a timeframe of up to 8.5 hours. The registration and check in time is from 08:00am and the practical training and assessment commences at 08:30am sharp
